SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) _ TerraVia Holdings Inc. (TVIA) on Wednesday reported a loss of $27.1 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the South San Francisco, California-based company said it had a loss of 30 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 20 cents per share.
The developer of algae oil for the food and personal care industries posted revenue of $4.8 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $101.6 million, or $1.18 per share. Revenue was reported as $18.5 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit 79 cents. A year ago, they were trading at $1.66.
