Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir get candid about their relationship off the ice: Are they dating or are they not?

So are they dating or are they not?

Team Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir took home the gold medal in the second and final night of the 2018 Olympics ice dancing competition. And while their record-breaking performance, an overall score of 206.07, was pretty darn impressive, there was something else people couldn't stop ogling about -- their incredible romantic chemistry.

And with all that chemistry on the ice, it'll shock you to find out that it's all for show and that the partners of 20 years aren't dating in real life. Nope! After their performance, Tessa and Scott chatted with Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie of "Today" about their friendly relationship.

“Your chemistry’s undeniable. Twitter’s exploding. They want you guys to be a couple,” Kotb told the pair.

Virtue, 28, responded, "Well, that’s such a compliment that you feel that when you watch us skate. We love performing together. We love storytelling, especially with Satine and Christian in the Moulin Rouge! program. That was really close to our hearts. We knew we wanted to skate to that music."

"Guess mission accomplished," Moir, 30, added. "That was the story we were telling, so I’m happy that you fell in love with that."

According to Scott in a previous interview, however, the pair did date for about eight months when he was 10 and Tessa was 8.

"It was romantic in the beginning," he joked.
