Texas grid operator hit with class action over electric price spike

Feb 23 (Reuters) - The Texas power provider that billed customers with a huge increase in electricity prices during the recent plunge in temperatures in the state was hit with a class action lawsuit accusing it of cashing in on a natural disaster.

The lawsuit against Griddy Electric LLC of Houston was brought by a resident of Mount Belvieu, Texas, seeks compensatory and punitive damages, according to a copy of the complaint filed in state court.
