The Rush: Drake and millions of Raptors fans party in the streets of Toronto

WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE to see today’s piping-hot, fresh-outta-the-oven episode of THE RUSH with Jared Quay! We’ll let you know everything you didn’t know you needed to know about sports. Other stuff too. But mostly sports.

It’s Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 and here’s what Jared’s cooking up:

  • The NBA finals just ended, but the offseason drama is already hot. The Rockets are a dumpster fire in motion, the Pelicans shipped away Anthony Davis the same week they’re about to ship in Zion, and the former duo of Kyrie Irving and LeBron James allegedly wants a reunion in L.A.

  • Drake, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a Kawhi Leonard impersonator and 1.5 million people filled the streets of Toronto to celebrate the Raptors’ first ever NBA title.

  • Even the The Golden State Warriors got in on the celebration, taking out a full page ad in the Toronto Star to congratulate the new champions. The move appears to be a gesture of gracious sportsmanship, but look a little closer and ulterior motives begin to appear.

  • While most of the day was a euphoric display of fun-loving celebration, the parade wasn’t immune from the ills of the “real world,” as a shooting left several people injured on site.

THE RUSH with Jared Quay will be back tomorrow. Until then, you can check out the archived episodes here.
