The Toronto-based company said it had net income of 37 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were 11 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 4 cents per share.
The news and financial information company posted revenue of $1.29 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.3 billion.
