Tiger Woods' state-by-state earnings are phenomenal

You already know Tiger Woods has made a decent amount of money in his PGA Tour career. A new graphic shows exactly how much he’s earned in tournament winnings all over the country … literally. Here’s the complete breakdown, as created by David McSweeney of noobnorm.com:

You can chart these figures by the tournaments where Woods has come up biggest. Woods’ greatest earnings come in the state of Florida (those eight Arnold Palmer Invitational wins surely helped), followed by Ohio (five Memorial wins), California (Pebble Beach! Torrey Pines!), and Georgia (Augusta). At the other end of the spectrum are the $38,000 Woods picked up in West Virginia and the nice little $69,000 in earnings from Washington state. All told, Woods has earned money in 25 different states, which surely makes life so much fun for his accountants.

Carving up the numbers makes the chart even more fascinating. Florida Tiger would rank 70th all-time on the PGA Tour career earnings list, while Ohio Tiger and California Tiger would also make the top 100 list. As Golf Digest notes, Tiger’s earnings in only his top four states would rank behind only Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, and Jim Furyk.

Impressive across the board. And with a good run here in his latest comeback, Woods might just add a few more states to that list … or at least a few more bucks.
