Hailey Baldwin has definitely come a long way from being known simply as the beautiful daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, the niece of Alec Baldwin, and the cousin of Ireland Baldwin. While Hailey Baldwin was first introduced to us through her famous dad, often as his plus-one at movie premieres and red carpet events, thanks to lucrative modeling contracts, a killer fashion sense, and a certain romance with a Mr. Justin Bieber, she now commands attention all on her own.
Baldwin is certainly in the public eye now more than ever before thanks to her recent (possible?) marriage to Bieber, but let’s not forget that she’s achieved her famous status in her own right. 1When she met Justin Bieber for the first time
Back in 2009, when she was just 13 (!) years old, Baldwin accompanied her dad to a Today show appearance and met Bieber for the first time—and it was awkwardly adorable. It would take a few more years for these two to date, break up, and get back together, but more about that later.

2When she talked about dating Bieber for the first time
Baldwin and Bieber were first spotted vacationing together over the New Year’s holiday in 2016, which sparked interest in their relationship status. In February of that year, Baldwin cleared things up (sort of) in an interview with E! News, saying, “We are not an exclusive couple. He’s about to go on tour. Relationships at this age are already complicated, but I don’t really like to talk about it because it’s between me and him.”
She added: “I am very open on social media, but that’s why I don’t like to talk about certain things. It really is my personal business. And I like to think my relationships are not between me, the person, and the whole entire world. It’s hard.” She clearly had no idea what was in store for her in 2018…

3When she got matching tattoos with BFF Kendall Jenner
Baldwin has been friends with Jenner for years; the two are so tight that they not only got matching finger tattoos together in 2016 but also got hip tattoos together a few months later. Jenner’s tat is the phonetic spelling of the word “sanity” inked in red, while Baldwin’s is the word “gente” (Portuguese for “people”).

4When she launched her own makeup line
Following in the footsteps of her friend Kylie Jenner, Baldwin announced in August 2016 that she was partnering with Australian beauty brand ModelCo on a limited-edition 25-piece collection that included everything from lipstick to a contouring palette. “My product range is affordable, accessible, and combines quality and femininity for a photo-finish-inspired look and feel,” Baldwin said at the time. “Think filter-esque hues, sleek packaging, and premium formulas.” The collab swiftly sold out.

In a 2017 interview with Elle U.K., Baldwin revealed how she deals with her parents, who have different political views than she does. “I’ve differed with my dad on pretty much everything in politics, especially lately, but I’m 100% my own person,” she told the magazine, referring to her famous father, a long-time Trump enthusiast. “It is what is it. They’re my family at the end of the day. I love them to death, but it’s never going to permanently change anything for me. I’ve always had my own thoughts on politics.”

Baldwin turned heads when she showed up on the arm of Mendes at the 2018 Met Gala. The two insisted they were “just friends” and despite what the internet might think, Mendes told the Australian TV show The Project that he texted “congratulations” to Baldwin upon hearing of her engagement with Bieber, so they’re definitely good now.

In July 2018, the world learned that Baldwin said “yes” to Bieber’s proposal in the Bahamas after only a couple of months dating (again). While they played coy at first, the two soon confirmed their engagement via social media. It’s still unclear whether these two crazy lovebirds have tied the knot, but according to People.com, sources have confirmed that Bieber and Baldwin are legally married as of Thursday, September 13th, 2018. Congrats, of course.
