TiVo's Fourth Emmy Awarded for Personalized Recommendation Engines for Video Discovery

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 12, 2013) - TiVo Inc., a leader in advanced television services and the creator of digital video recorders (DVRs), announced today that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded the 2012-2013 Emmy Award for Technical and Engineering Achievement for Personalized Recommendation Engines for Video Discovery to TiVo.

The Emmy honors the interactive TV and whole-home experience that users will find with their TiVo® Premiere DVR, TiVo Mini and TiVo Stream. TiVo is a digital platform for interactive TV that delivers a superior TV user experience allowing consumers to search the best of live TV and the Web, coordinate TV viewing between multiple digital screens, and access interactive content related to what you're viewing. TiVo also conveniently categorizes "Emmy Award Winners" in their renowned collections to make it quick and easy to find, record, download or stream Emmy winning shows from any year -- something no other cable DVR or set top box can do.

"At TiVo, we don't innovate to win awards -- we do it because we love television and believe that consumers deserve a better experience," said Margret Schmidt, Vice President of Design & Engineering, Chief Design Officer at TiVo Inc. "We are thrilled to win an Emmy for the TiVo Premiere and consider it further validation of the incredible work so many people at TiVo have put into creating the best interactive TV and whole-home experience on the market today."

"We congratulate TiVo on being recognized as one of the select few to be honored with the Emmy Award for Technology and Engineering for 2013," said Malachy Wienges, the Chairman of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. "The National Awards Committee's Engineering Achievement Committee seeks out the best technology to give viewers the ultimate television experience and, this year, we are happy to see TiVo among our distinguished honorees."
