TODAY'S CHARTS: Merger Monday deals and speculation powering the markets

Happy Merger Monday everyone. Here are some of the deals (and speculation) powering the market today.

German health-care provider Fresenius is making a big push into the US market, buying home dialysis company NxStage (NXTM) for $30 per share in a deal valued at $2 billion.  Shares are up 28%, compared to Friday’s closing price of $23.13.

United Technologies (UTX) has submitted an offer for aircraft parts maker Rockwell Collins, according to Reuters. Rumors that Rockwell Collins (ROC) has been working with an investment bank sent the stock up 4%. United Technologies would not comment on the news.

Finally, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son is still trying to find a suitor for Sprint (S).  Son told investors that merger talks are progressing and he expects a deal in the near future. Sprint has reportedly resumed talks with T-Mobile (TMUS) and is still interested in a deal with Charter (CHTR).
