Oracle Corporation's shares closed up higher on Tuesday with a gain of 0.61%. Credit Suisse initiated coverage on the stock and gave it an "outperform" rating as well as a price target of $62. Compared to yesterday's closing price, the firm's target is a 22% premium over it. Analyst Brad Zelnick wrote to clients that the market "under-appreciates the staying power of Oracle's technology stack and upside opportunities in the cloud." He also wrote, "While traditional financial metrics have lagged given a cloud transition, the stock is valued as if there's no tomorrow, or no other side to the transition." He also noted that "the cloud ERP opportunity is just now heating up, and ORCL is in pole position. Our field work suggests ORCL has the leading cloud product in the largest of app software categories (ERP) … and an advantage given its incumbency." He stated, "ORCL is our favorite aggregation play. We particularly like companies that can parlay dominant market positions into adjacencies to capture incremental wallet share." He cited that the company has acquired over 60 companies since 2004.

NVIDIA Corporation's shares closed down 2.67% on nearly 17.5 million shares traded on Tuesday. According to Retail Dive, behemoth retailer Walmart is investing in NVIDIA's chips in order to build out its cloud network. The company's chips are high-level graphical processing units. Analyst Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities Research believes Walmart is setting up it's own data centers which are based on the cloud and will consequently use more NVIDIA Corporation chips in the future. The analyst has predicted that in the next six months Walmart will use NVIDIA chips for its deep neural networks. "Within the next 6 months or so, Walmart is going full steam with DNN (Deep Neural Networks) and will be creating its own NVDA GPU Clusters on Walmart Cloud," wrote Chowdhry.
