NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / November 6, 2017 / U.S. markets were lifted higher Friday by a strong earnings report from tech-giant Apple Inc., offsetting mixed economic data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.10 percent to close at 23,539.19, while the S&P 500 Index rose 0.31 percent to close at 2,587.84. The NASDAQ Composite Index jumped 0.74 percent to close at 6,764.44. On Friday, data showed 261,000 jobs were added in October, which fell short of the 325,000 economists were expecting.
"Whether the new Fed chair, the tax reform plan, or the nonfarm payrolls today, the market keeps grinding higher," said Nicholas Angilletta, head of capital markets for Deutsche Bank Wealth Management Americas, according to The Wall Street Journal. "Investors don't want to miss the next new high tomorrow."
