·1 min read

Strong storms are expected through Massachusetts through most of the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service. A severe thunderstorm watch was posted for much of Massachusetts from Boston westward through 8 p.m. Thursday.

High temperatures have been above 90 for much of the week, and the heat wave is expected to continue through the weekend.

"Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter," the National Weather Service said of the storms. "Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
