SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 11, 2012) - Total Rebalance Expert (TRX) today announced a data integration agreement with Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of independent investment research. Now, advisors can automatically import their portfolio data from Morningstar Office(SM), a global practice and portfolio management platform for independent financial advisors, into TRX's software platform to streamline and simplify the rebalancing process.
"Regular portfolio rebalancing is becoming more important for advisors as they respond to today's more volatile markets," said Sheryl Rowling, CEO of Total Rebalance Expert. "With the potential of higher tax rates next year, automated portfolio rebalancing technology enables advisors to aggregate information, identify market opportunities, and maximize tax efficiency. Our integration with Morningstar Office will help advisory firms rebalance quickly and easily with high quality data."
Total Rebalance Expert is the industry's largest independent portfolio rebalancing platform and provides advanced capabilities for tax-efficient investment management. Because of the complexity and labor-intensive efforts required to rebalance client portfolios, advisors who have adopted automated rebalancing software have a much more agile infrastructure, allowing them to save time, eliminate errors, and rebalance more frequently to take advantage of investing opportunities.
More than 3,700 advisors use Morningstar Office, which features integrated performance reporting, investment research, sophisticated investment planning, and intuitive client relationship management tools.
Michael Wilson, vice president of advisor software, Morningstar, said, "TRX's mission to create efficiencies in an advisor's daily practice lines up with our goal to create technology solutions rich with research and data that help advisors better serve their clients."
The integration features the ability to import accounts, positions, securities, and classifications, as well as transactions and tax lot data from Morningstar Office at the client level via a single-click import process.
Once advisors upload data from Morningstar Office into TRX's platform they can use modern portfolio theory-based rebalancing to help ensure tax efficiency across a client's entire portfolio. Additionally, TRX's advanced portfolio analysis functionality will be enhanced by the integration of Morningstar's data feeds via Morningstar Office.
"We need to rebalance portfolios at a client household level in order to provide the optimal wealth management services they require," said Kevin Kroskey, owner of True Wealth Design in Canton, Ohio. "With this new integration, we can simply log in and import the data through cloud-based technology so we can make the proper trades."
Velda Eugenias, CEO of the Eugenias Advisory Group, LLC in Gadsden, Ala., uses numerous custodians, which makes advanced data integration critical to its reporting and rebalancing processes. "The integration between Morningstar and TRX gives us the ability with the click of a button to rebalance a portfolio across multiple custodians and accounts. It takes the guesswork out of how to capture tax losses and implement tax strategies," she said.
TRX has now completed six integrations with leading portfolio management systems. "We believe that the combination of automated rebalancing integrated with portfolio management data enables advisors to provide an even higher level of service to their clients, while saving them time, money, and creating a back-office that can scale with their growth," Rowling added.
