We could all use a bit more of the following: albums from Harry Styles; freshly baked bread; and cold, hard cash. Though I am not here to sell you on a get rich quick scheme (I'll leave that to people you went to high school with), I am here to share the news that Costco, Trader Joe's, and a number of other retailers are selling "money trees" said to bring you lots of luck in the financial department.

Okay, so the concept of a "money tree" isn't exactly new...at all. The tree, which is also known by its actual name of Pachira aquatica, is a tropical plant that is native to Central and South America. Though it loves a warm and wet climate, as Apartment Therapy put it, it's very easy to take care of indoors and is basically impossible to kill. Phew!

But it's beloved for another reason, especially by those who practice feng shui. According to Epic Gardening, this plant is known as the money tree because it has five leaves on each stem, a number which represents the elements. It's one of many different money plants identified in feng shui, which you can read more about on The Spruce.

Though, again, it's not new, the plant has been popping up recently at some of our favorite retailers including Trader Joe's and Costco. This is likely because at the beginning of the year—especially since we're all getting those credit card statements after holiday shopping—we're all looking for a little extra money.

If you do spy one at your local Trader Joe's, this plant will go for around $8.99, whereas it will run you about $19.99 at Costco for what looks like a larger variety. Here's hoping we all come into a bit of money as a result...I'll take anything!
