The Morrisville, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 12 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 11 cents per share.
The maker of surgical robots and medical instruments posted revenue of $53,000 in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $120 million, or $1.07 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.5 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $1.29. A year ago, they were trading at $3.53.
