TriCo: 1Q Earnings Snapshot

CHICO, Calif. (AP) _ TriCo Bancshares (TCBK) on Thursday reported first-quarter earnings of $22.7 million.

The bank, based in Chico, California, said it had earnings of 74 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 72 cents per share.

The holding company for Tri Counties Bank posted revenue of $79.3 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $75.7 million, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $77 million.

TriCo shares have climbed 17 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 4 percent in the last 12 months.
