KWINANA BEACH, Australia (AP) _ Tronox Ltd. (TROX) on Monday reported third-quarter net income of $6 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Kwinana Beach, Australia-based company said it had profit of 5 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and asset impairment costs, were 17 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 14 cents per share.
The producer of titanium ore and titanium dioxide posted revenue of $456 million in the period.
Tronox shares have fallen 42 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $11.92, a drop of 54 percent in the last 12 months.
