SEATTLE (AP) _ Trupanion Inc. (TRUP) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $782,000.
The Seattle-based company said it had net income of 2 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 2 cents per share.
The provider of medical insurance covering cats and dogs posted revenue of $99.3 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $97.4 million.
Trupanion shares have dropped almost 6% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $24.04, a drop of slightly more than 6% in the last 12 months.
