The Athens, Greece-based company said it had a loss of 28 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 19 cents per share.
The oil and gas shipping company posted revenue of $126.5 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $92.6 million, also missing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $99.9 million.
The company's shares closed at $3.38. A year ago, they were trading at $4.14.
