TWC, Dodgers deal seen risky

Time Warner Cable (TWC) is said to be close to clinching a deal with the Dodgers, in a blow to News Corp.'s (NWSA) Fox Sports, which wanted to renew broadcast rights, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The Dodgers deal would be Time Warner Cable's 2nd big move in the L.A. market. The Dodgers deal is said to be worth $6 bil-$7 bil. In bidding for sports rights vs. pure content companies like ESPN, cable TV companies run the risk of pushing costs even higher, some analysts warn. TWC rose 1 cent.
