Twentyseven Global Builds New App for Wine Industry; Winebuys Connects Winemakers, Retailers & Aficionados

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwired - Mar 11, 2014) - Twentyseven Global recently completed a rich array of mobile application development services for Winebuys, a wine app for consumers, retailers and winemakers alike. The app enables winemakers to market their labels; retailers to notify consumers about new wines, tastings, pricing and gifting promotions; and consumers to gain access to information about wines, read reviews and share information across social networking sites.

Steve Roatch, CEO of Twentyseven Global, said, "We are excited to launch such a robust and flavorful app for the wine industry. This will be a new opportunity to connect consumers, winemakers and retailers so they have one place to get everything they need to know about wines. Additionally, the gifting component we built allows retailers to collect new information about their customers as well as customize offers they want to push out when new wines, offers or tastings are available. By leveraging mobile technology, the wine industry can maximize its connection with consumers, promote its products and build valuable customer data."

Prior to working with Twentyseven Global, Winebuys had an iPhone app for consumers to read reviews and share information across social networking sites, but it did not have any functionality for retailers or winemakers to manage their inventory and promotions. Twentyseven Global built the management functions, designed the loyalty/gifting component for retailers along with a QR code feature to be scanned at checkout, designed a customer database for tracking performance and customizable offers, added a rotating banner for winemakers to promote their labels, upgraded the iPhone app to support iOS7 and built the application for Android devices. Additionally, calendar functionality promotes wine tastings and other events that can be pushed out to consumers. This calendar tool is integrated with Gannet properties and Gravy, so when a calendar event is uploaded, it is pushed out to all of those locations.

According to Andrew Hoehner, president and co-founder of Winebuys, he and his team reached out to Twentyseven Global when they decided that the app needed more tools for winemakers and retailers. "Twentyseven Global knocked it out of the park. We were looking for a mobile and software development firm that could come to us with the best and brightest ideas to modify and streamline our app for the entire industry. Steve Roatch and his team knew exactly what to propose and did it in a way that was easy for us non-IT folks to understand. We are so happy with the application and know it will be a huge success! We could not have done this without Twentyseven Global and highly recommend the company."

The Winebuys app is already available for download free for consumers and accessible for a nominal price to retailers and winemakers. For consumers, it's the ultimate tool for finding that perfect bottle by suggesting wine based on user taste and providing details about the wine and where to purchase it.

Retailers are provided with cost-effective tools to market wine to consumers and drive traffic back to stores through loyalty and gifting programs created by Twentyseven Global. Every time a user interacts with the app, consumer data is saved, which retailers can use to push out prizes, gifts or specific offers. They can track to see who took advantage of offers, the campaigns that are performing and build detailed customer profiles.
