One of the ugliest incidents of last NFL season has resulted in a couple of fans being banned from the Jacksonville Jaguars’ stadium.
At the end of a heated Jaguars game against the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 10, some fans threw debris at Seahawks defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson. Jefferson tried to go into the stands to confront the fans, but was held back. On Wednesday, Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reported the team has banned two fans over the incident.
The Jaguars, NFL Security, the stadium management company and stadium security service and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had a thorough investigation into the matter to identify the fans.
“It was concluded that four individuals threw objects onto the field,” according to a report obtained by the Times-Union. “Based on available video evidence, we were able to positively identify two of these individuals. All four individuals had relocated to a seat near the field wall toward the end of the game.”
The fans will be indefinitely banned from buying tickets to Jaguars events at the stadium, the Times-Union reported.
