U.S. regulator suspends trading in inactive company Minnesota company
WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - The U.S. Securities andExchange Commission (SEC) on Thursday suspended trading inSpectraScience Inc., an inactive Minnesota corporation, amidquestions surrounding online promotion of the company'ssecurities and recent trading activity, the regulator said.
Since late January, some social media accounts "may beengaged in a coordinated attempt to artificially influence"SpectraScience's share price, the SEC said in a statement.
During that time period, prices and trading volume rose eventhough there was no publicly available news from the company, itsaid.(Reporting by Chris PrenticeEditing by Chizu Nomiyama)
