Four Associated Press poll voters gave Central Florida the national championship the Knights have been claiming.

UCF is at No. 6 in the final AP Poll released in the hours after Alabama’s 26-23 win over Georgia. But while the Tide got 57 first-place votes, UCF was the only other team to get first-place votes in the poll.

The Bulldogs are at No. 2 behind the Tide after Monday night’s loss and just ahead of Oklahoma, who UGA beat in overtime in the Rose Bowl. Clemson, which lost to Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, is at No. 4 in the poll. Big Ten Champion Ohio State rounds out the top five and UCF slips ahead of Wisconsin, Penn State, TCU and Auburn.

The Tigers were, of course, who UCF beat in the Peach Bowl to cap off an undefeated 13-0 season. The Knights had a parade Monday night in Orlando before the National Championship Game to celebrate the team’s “national title.” UCF is claiming the championship, will raise a banner and also pay the title bonuses to its entire coaching staff.
