HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) _ Ultra Clean Holdings Inc. (UCTT) on Tuesday reported a third-quarter loss of $6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Hayward, California-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions and non-recurring costs, were 30 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 30 cents per share.
The chipmaking equipment services company posted revenue of $234.1 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $224.1 million.
For the current quarter ending in December, Ultra Clean expects its per-share earnings to range from 22 cents to 32 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $240 million to $260 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
Ultra Clean shares have decreased 50 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $11.52, a decrease of 54 percent in the last 12 months.
