Aug 2 (Reuters) - Union Pacific Corp said on Monday it reopened the Keddie-Portola railway line, which the top U.S. railroad operator was forced to shut because of the Dixie fire in California.
The company also reopened the Dry Canyon Bridge in California, which was shut due to another fire.
The railroad had previously estimated the bridge, which had sustained "significant structural damage" due to the Lava Fire, to open in mid-August.
"While we are reopened across the areas impacted by the fires, we continue to work closely with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to minimize any potential fire damage," the company said.
