United Insurance: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ United Insurance Holdings Corp. (UIHC) on Thursday reported a loss of $11.7 million in its third quarter.

The Saint Petersburg, Florida-based company said it had a loss of 27 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 35 cents per share.

The property and casualty insurance company posted revenue of $187.7 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $182 million.

United Insurance shares have risen 16 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 28 percent in the last 12 months.
