GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) _ Universal Forest Products Inc. (UFPI) on Wednesday reported first-quarter profit of $35.5 million.
On a per-share basis, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company said it had profit of 58 cents.
The wood and materials provider for the construction industry posted revenue of $1.02 billion in the period.
Universal Forest shares have risen 20 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $31.17, a decline of nearly 5 percent in the last 12 months.
