Universal Forest: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) _ Universal Forest Products Inc. (UFPI) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $30.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company said it had profit of 50 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 51 cents per share.

The wood and materials provider for the construction industry posted revenue of $988.2 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $148.6 million, or $2.40 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.49 billion.

Universal Forest shares have increased 26 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $32.68, a decrease of almost 10 percent in the last 12 months.
