FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) _ Universal Insurance Holdings Inc. (UVE) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $37.3 million.
On a per-share basis, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based company said it had net income of $1.08. Earnings, adjusted for one-time items, were $1.05 per share.
The property and casualty insurance company posted revenue of $233.7 million in the period.
Universal Insurance shares have declined 35% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $24.82, a fall of 44% in the last 12 months.
