AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Upland Software Inc. (UPLD) on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $19.9 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Austin, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 80 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 67 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 58 cents per share.
The maker of cloud-based enterprise work-management software posted revenue of $66.1 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $62.7 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $45.4 million, or $1.96 per share. Revenue was reported as $222.6 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, Upland Software said it expects revenue in the range of $62.8 million to $65.8 million.
The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $269.5 million to $281.5 million.
Upland Software shares have climbed almost 10% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $39.19, a climb of 13% in the last 12 months.
