US Airways Q4 profit doubles

The No. 5 U.S. carrier's EPS rose to 26 cents vs. 19 cents last year, beating consensus by 7 cents. Sales grew 3.9% to $3.28 bil, in line with views. The company has a 94 IBD Composite Rating, meaning it's outperformed 94% of all stocks on key metrics such as sales and profit growth. US Airways (LCC) is still in merger talks with AMR Corp., parent of bankrupt American Airlines. But JPMorgan said in a client note that US Airways' strong margins may make a merger unnecessary.
