BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ US Ecology Inc. (ECOL) on Thursday reported first-quarter earnings of $5.2 million.
On a per-share basis, the Boise, Idaho-based company said it had net income of 24 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 23 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 28 cents per share.
The radioactive and hazardous waste services company posted revenue of $110.2 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $108.1 million.
US Ecology shares have fallen slightly more than 1 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $48.45, an increase of 12 percent in the last 12 months.
