NEW YORK (AP) -- U.S. futures rose Tuesday after a lull to begin the week, with investors appearing ready to push markets into new territory.

The Dow Jones industrial average and the Standard and Poor's 500 index both closed at record highs Friday.

Dow Jones industrial futures rose 8 points to 15,065. S&P futures have added 1.8 points to 1,632.60. Nasdaq futures gained a half a point to 2,981.50.

The CEO of BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion takes the stage Tuesday at the company's annual three-day conference in Orlando, Fla.

People will be listening for an update on the BlackBerry 10, which was released earlier this year after numerous delays.

It doesn't seem like anything can slow Tesla Motors, whose shares have jumped 58 percent this week, 100 percent this month, and almost 200 percent over the past year.

Tesla shares rose another 7 percent in premarket trading.
