Using Alexa Can Save You Money on Amazon Prime Day

Chances are that if you own an Amazon Echo, you're already knee-deep in the retail giant's ecosystem. Today, Prime Day (July 12), you can get save up to 47 percent off select purchases when using your Bluetooth-speaker-turned-assistant.

Today is the second Prime Day, during which Amazon is offering a variety of deals across all of its product categories (that is, as long as you're a Prime member).

Prime members get a $10 discount on the first order they make using Alexa on an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, or Tap. Additionally, Amazon has release information on specific deals that you can only get if you order with Alexa:

“Alexa order a drone” and get a Dromida Kodo UAV Quadcopter for $25 (38% off, through July 12 or while supplies last)
“Alexa order a griddler” and get a Cuisinart 5-in-1 Griddler for $40 (47% off, through July 12 or while supplies last)
“Alexa order an Amazon Tap” and get an Amazon Tap for $79 (39% off, today only, while supplies last)

Alexa will also be privy to more exclusive deals on Prime Day, which you can learn about by asking "Alexa, what are your Prime Day deals" or going to amazon.com/AlexaDeals.

If you do plan on buying from Amazon through an Echo device, be sure to enable a security code so that others can't order on your behalf.

Those without Amazon Prime can sign up for a 30-day free trial, which you can cancel any time. If you don't cancel, you'll automatically start paying $11 per month.
