USTR allows liquidation of goods to resume at VU Manufacturing in Mexico - letter

MEXICO CITY, Sept 14 (Reuters) - The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has lifted a suspension on the liquidation of goods from auto parts plant VU Manufacturing in the northern Mexican city of Piedras Negras, the USTR office said on Wednesday.

A letter on the USTR website said liquidation could resume because a condition of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) had been met. The U.S. government in July opened a probe into the plant for alleged worker rights violations under the USMCA. (Reporting by Daina Beth Solomon and Ismail Shakil; Editing by Anthony Esposito)
