New Drug Application Moving Forward

Vanda Pharmaceuticals announced that the Food & Drug Administration accepted the company's new-drug application for its tasimelteon drug. The agency also granted the compound priority-review status. VNDA rockets 27 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Aegerion Higher on Juxtapid News

Aegerion Pharmaceuticals announced that 215 patients are using its Jaxtapid drug, putting it on track to reach its target of 250-300 by yearend. Management also lifted full-year sales guidance to $30-35 million from $15-25 million. AEGR surges 15 percent in the premarket.

Mosaic, Potash Crater on Russian News

Fertilizer stocks including Mosaic and Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan are getting hammered after Russia's Uralkali withdrew from a potash cartel. That threatens to send prices spiraling lower. MOS fell 28 percent and POT is down 26 percent on the news!
