VEGOILS-Market factors to watch Jan 28

The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and

other vegetable oil markets.

* Malaysian palm oil futures fell to their lowest in nearly two weeks on Monday

as a fall in global shares curbed appetite for risky assets, but weak local

currency reined in losses.

* U.S. soybean futures rose on Monday after government data showed

larger-than-expected export shipments of the beans and as rains slowed the early

soy harvest in top producer Brazil, traders and analysts said.

* Brent crude oil futures shed more than $1 a barrel on Monday, and U.S. crude

fell almost as much, as investors kept dumping risky assets on worries about

weaker growth in emerging markets.

* Emerging market equities hit a five-month low on Monday to lead a global

stocks sell-off, while Wall Street failed to hold slight gains as sentiment

* U.S. natural gas futures slumped 6.5 percent on Monday, as a thaw after last

week's deep freeze reduced heating demand across much of the country, while oil

slid as investors shed risky assets and gold fell 1 percent on profit taking

after the precious metal hit a one-month high during the session.
