Investing.com - Verint Systems Inc's (NASDAQ:VRNT) shares were climbing during Wednesday post bell session, following the company’s report that its second quarter revenue and earnings surpassed analysts’ expectations.

The company earned 61 cents per share on revenue of $274.77 million. The per share earnings result was $0.14 better than analysts expected while revenue beat by $5.22 million.

Separately, the company announced that board chairman Victor DeMarines passed away on August 30. DeMarines joined the board in 2002 before the IPO. The company’s President and CEO has been serving as chairman after a unanimous vote.

Verint’s shares were up about 5% in after hours trade.
