MELVILLE, N.Y. (AP) _ Verint Systems Inc. (VRNT) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $8 million.
On a per-share basis, the Melville, New York-based company said it had profit of 13 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 90 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 86 cents per share.
The maker of software for analyzing intercepted communications posted revenue of $295.9 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $294.1 million.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $29.4 million, or 47 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.06 billion.
Verint expects full-year earnings to be $2.70 per share.
Verint shares have risen 12 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $39.55, a rise of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
