Verite Mobile and Social Tools Help The Road Home Holiday Radio-a-Thon Charity Event Generate Unprecedented Donations

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - Jan 17, 2013) - Vérité, a digital communications agency, and The Road Home, the largest homeless shelter in Utah, announced the Holiday Radio-a-Thon a huge success with unprecedented donations. The final donation amount reported by the Road Home was $1,447,000.00. The Holiday Radio-a-Thon is vital to the operation of The Road Home shelter as it raises funds that help provide life saving shelter throughout the winter months.

This year the key communications strategy for the Holiday Radio-a-Thon involved an integrated campaign supported on the web, social and mobile platforms. Working with Vérité, The Road Home content was able to launch 2 weeks earlier than in past years, resulting in increased exposure of the fundraiser through the web, mobile and social tools. Early donations were a key outcome of this and further added to the donation success.

Vérité developed a mobile version of The Road Home site and integrated it with their main site content allowing supporters to make their donation quickly and easily no matter where they were. This ease of access resulted in more individual contributions during the Holiday Radio-a-Thon than ever before. "We were delighted to have such a successful event and Vérité as an incredibly strong partner; this combination helped us meet our financial goals," says Becca Dupaix, Development Manager at The Road Home. "Innovative tools allowed us to track and thank donors for their support quickly and easily."
