Hulu has revealed a brand new trailer for the Veronica Mars revival, and it teases the return of some familiar faces.
The cult classic teen drama-turned-thriller-turned-noir is being revived for a second time, with Kristen Bell reprising her title role as the amateur detective.
In the new trailer, Veronica is reacquainted with her on-off boyfriend Logan (Jason Dohring), who she hasn't seen for some time. He informs her he's back for extended leave from the Navy.
The pair seem to get close once again, but it won't be all kisses and rainbows as a serial killer bomber is on the loose in Neptune.
In addition to the returning cast of Bell, Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Percy Daggs, Francis Capra, Ryan Hansen, Max Greenfield and Daran Norris, the new season also welcomes newcomers such as Patton Oswalt and The Good Place's Kirby Howell-Baptiste.
Oscar winner J.K. Simmons also makes an appearance as Clyde Prickett, a shady ex-convict-turned-fixer to Neptune real estate developer Big Dick Casablancas (David Starzyk).
One character who won't be making a return for the revival is Veronica's computer-savvy friend Mac (Tina Majorino).
"We would have loved to have Tina Majorino," said creator Rob Thomas. "She had other commitments. That was a shame. We adore her. We would have loved to have had her in it."
The new series of Veronica Mars will be available on Hulu from July 26.
