PHOENIX (AP) _ Viad Corp. (VVI) on Thursday reported first-quarter net income of $6.8 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Phoenix-based company said it had net income of 33 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 17 cents per share.
The trade show company posted revenue of $325.8 million in the period.
Viad expects full-year earnings in the range of 88 cents to 99 cents per share.
Viad shares have climbed 4.5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $46.10, an increase of 50 percent in the last 12 months.
