SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Viavi Solutions Inc. (VIAV) on Thursday reported a loss of $4.8 million in its fiscal third quarter.
The San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, were 13 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 13 cents per share.
The communications equipment company posted revenue of $265.2 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $260.3 million.
For the current quarter ending in June, Viav Solutions expects its per-share earnings to range from 14 cents to 16 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $268 million to $288 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
Viav Solutions shares have risen 32% since the beginning of the year.
