Video Premiere: Larkin Poe cover Son House's 'Preachin' Blues'

Nashville-by-way-of-Atlanta sister duo Larkin Poe will be releasing their third album, Peach, on September 29 — a project that took an unexpected twist in the making. What started as an album of all-original material changed directions when Rebecca and Megan Lovel started recording and posting blues covers on various social media channels. Interest exploded, new friends were added rapidly, and what started out as a random idea became a phenomenon.

Yahoo Music is excited to debut the video for the duo’s cover of Son House’s “Preachin’ Blues” for fans to get a taste of their blues prowess.

Despite the sudden burst of interest in Peach, the sisters are actually no strangers to attention. For 2017’s MusiCares Person of the Year concert honoring Tom Petty, they were asked by T Bone Burnett to be part of the backing band for the event, where they performed with such musical luminaries as Jakob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Elle King, Gary Clarke Jr., Don Henley, Randy Newman, and Lucinda Williams. They’ve also performed on Conan, opened for Elvis Costello and Bob Seger, and taken the stage at England’s Glastonbury festival twice.
