VigLink and Netpop Launch Publisher Roundtable to Give Online Publishers Free, Powerful Collective Intelligence and Analytics Tools

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 12, 2014) - Publisher Roundtable, a new collective intelligence platform for online content publishers, launched today. A collaboration between market research company Netpop and content monetization company VigLink, Publisher Roundtable is designed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among publishers. The platform is free to online publishers of all sizes. Founding members include Huddler sites and TextureMedia.

Publisher Roundtable will collect the business insights from online publishers across business objectives such as audience building, content monetization, and content development. Analysis of the aggregated data will establish key industry benchmarks and metrics with regard to critical questions around average spend, channel effectiveness, and business operations. Participating publishers will then be able to view the aggregated data as a summary report. Importantly, publishers can also generate custom comparison reports, benchmarking their own performance to that of comparable publishers. Experts at Netpop will analyze the data and summarize findings in "Tips" reports that provide key insights for all participating publishers. Publishers will also be invited to join their peers in private online forums, diving deeper into the unique aspects of running a content site.

The first interview will examine how publishers build an audience. Comparing satisfaction with the quality of various channels used to acquire audience -- including SEO, SEM, and social media, the interview will identify which of these channels are the most effective and what makes them effective. The detailed research will also seek to identify and appropriately value different channels' cost efficiency for driving high quality visitors that tend to return to a site and spend significant time there.
