MIDLAND, Texas (AP) _ Viper Energy Partners LP (VNOM) on Tuesday reported third-quarter net income of $7.9 million.
The Midland, Texas-based company said it had profit of 13 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 6 cents per share.
The oil and gas company posted revenue of $71.8 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $74.2 million.
Viper Energy shares have climbed almost 4% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $27.03, a drop of 23% in the last 12 months.
