Visa (V) closed at $180.59 in the latest trading session, marking a -1.83% move from the prior day. This change lagged the S&P 500's daily loss of 1.03%. Elsewhere, the Dow lost 1.11%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.12%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the global payments processor had lost 9.33% over the past month. This has was narrower than the Business Services sector's loss of 12.88% and the S&P 500's loss of 10.4% in that time.

Visa will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release. On that day, Visa is projected to report earnings of $1.87 per share, which would represent year-over-year growth of 15.43%. Our most recent consensus estimate is calling for quarterly revenue of $7.58 billion, up 15.63% from the year-ago period.
