Visa (V) Gains But Lags Market: What You Should Know

In the latest trading session, Visa (V) closed at $191.38, marking a +1.11% move from the previous day. This change lagged the S&P 500's 1.47% gain on the day. Meanwhile, the Dow gained 2.32%, and the Nasdaq, a tech-heavy index, added 1.2%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the global payments processor had lost 2.57% over the past month. This has lagged the Business Services sector's gain of 1.14% and the S&P 500's gain of 0.74% in that time.

Wall Street will be looking for positivity from V as it approaches its next earnings report date. On that day, V is projected to report earnings of $1.01 per share, which would represent a year-over-year decline of 26.28%.
