SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Vocera Communications Inc. (VCRA) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $298,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The San Jose, California-based company said it had net income of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, came to 23 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 19 cents per share.
The hospital mobile communications company posted revenue of $50.8 million in the period, matching Street forecasts.
For the current quarter ending in December, Vocera expects its per-share earnings to range from 8 cents to 20 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $46 million to $51 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
Vocera expects full-year earnings in the range of 22 cents to 34 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $176.8 million to $181.8 million.
Vocera shares have decreased 38% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $24.27, a drop of 20% in the last 12 months.
